AQHA UK Breed Show, Blue Profile Futurities and Rambo Quarter Horse Championships are to be held 25th - 28th September at Horse Creek Farm. Watch the video to see the 2007 Heroes of the Championship - who will be the 2008 Champions...?

It was announced at the WES Championship Show that Bob Mayhew (considered father of Western Riding in the UK) made his last appearance as a competitor at the show. When the announcement was made, Bob made a farewell lap of the arena and like a true showman, threw his hat into the appreciative crowd. As a fitting end and as if to demonstrate his talent, he won the WES Championship reining class and rewarded the spectators with a spectacular farewell spin.

Here is a small taster of the action from the recent European Paint Horse Championship held in Kreuth Germany. Since 2003 the EPHC has grown to be the largest American Paint Horse Show outside of North America. Including friends and Family, UK PHA had a group of nine at the Show. It was great to see a UK Horse win a medal; Lenas Diamond Rio, ridden by Martin Steck and owned by Sternbergs won the Bronze medal in the Junior Reining Open.!

The Western Equestrian Society was formed in 1985 to promote the Discipline of Western Riding to the standard as practised in the United States. The aims and objectives of the founder members have certainly been achieved as a significant number of members have gone on to compete, officiate and judge at competitions throughout the UK, Europe and the United states. WES now promotes the sport from pure beginners to the very top level and you can start with any breed of horse with members participating with breeds as diverse as Shetland Ponies to World Class Quarter Horses with Arabs, Appaloosas, Cobs, Thoroughbreds and sundry Native Breeds participating in many of the regional shows.In addition the Society has built up an enviable reputation for well organised professionally run events run by knowledgeable officials with a welcoming and friendly attitude to participants only too willing to assist those new to the Western discipline.
